It was a wild afternoon for Maine State Police, the Maine Forest Service and several other area agencies as a pursuit took place that led authorities through multiple counties.
Sunday afternoon a chase began in Piscataquis County as police attempted to stop 31-year-old Chad Delano. Delano is a resident of both Maine and Florida. According to WABI TV 5, police chased Delano through Piscataquis and eventually into Penobscot county. Several departments followed the suspect through Dexter, Etna Newport and eventually into the small town of Stetson, Maine.
Once in Stetson, authorities attempted the PIT maneuver (precision immobilization technique) but it wasn t effective. Delano continued on to Lapointe Road and proceeded to steal another car from a residence. It was at this point the officials requested the assistance of a Maine Forest Service chopper.
