Do you go down internet rabbit holes? I do all the time. I ll be looking for one thing, then I ll see something that will trigger another thought, and off I go looking for that. Thanks, Google, and thanks iMdB.
So this journey started with an update found on Facebook from Byce & Associates about one of their local projects, the new world headquarters for Advia Credit Union, that is being built on West Main, west of US 131, almost next door to the Meijer store. I don t live on the west side anymore but have been over there recently for vaccine shots and it s quite an impressive building that is going up.

Last summer I remember finding a dryer sheet in my mailbox and I kind of laughed it off thinking the mailman had it stuck to his sleeves or something and it came off when he dropped off my mail. It s road work season all over the Midwest, but the Cedar Rapids exit on I-380 has been under construction for years. I haven t seen it for a while seeing as though I now live in the Quad Cities, but I was visiting family last night with a friend, and man was it a rough drive for a second.
I ve become a pro at navigating all the bridges, and road construction here in the Quad Cities, but the other night it was dark and rainy on my drive through Iowa city on I-380, and as the lanes began to merge together I found myself a bit confused, and almost hit a traffic cone.

This bowling alley first opened the year John F. Kennedy was elected president, Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird came out and the original Psycho was released in movie theaters. From its vantage point on 35 in Sea Girt, the Lanes has seen a lot, and sadly has seen better times. Business was iffy the last few years prior to the pandemic, but the virus is what really put them behind the 8 ball.
Don Corcione is the manager and he spoke appreciatively to nj.com about his workers. “A lot of people would have walked out once they saw the writing on the wall but not the people that work with me. They’re like my family.”
