A couple of days ago, WGME CBS 13 News reported that Bowdoin College in Brunswick has become the first (and so far, only in Maine) college to actually require both students and staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID in order to participate in-person for the upcoming fall semester.
Reps from Bowdoin told WGME that the requirement is in order to protect the health and safety of our community, particularly people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. With the timeline Bowdoin has set, all students will need to be fully vaccinated by Friday, August 13, while all faculty and staff have a deadline of Tuesday, August 24, which is the first day students return to campus.
