The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds anglers the state fishing opener for walleye, bass, trout in lakes and northern pike is Saturday, May 15. Per state statute, the Minnesota fishing opener is the Saturday two weeks prior to the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. So, with the latest possible date for Memorial Day in 2021, anglers must have patience as the opener also falls on the latest possible date. The DNR says there has been some confusion with the opener date this year.

A woman from Winchendon, Massachusettts, Jennifer Publicover, 40 years old, was hiking the White Arrow Trail on Mount Monadnock this past weekend, according to WMUR. She found herself on the trail when it got dark. Her phone was dying and she knew she would have to call for help, however, when she did, she was on the phone for less than a minute before her battery died. Jennifer started to panic and decided to try to hike down the trail on her own in the dark. BAD idea.
Michigan Man Accused of Putting Anti-Freeze in Co-Worker’s Water Bottle

A Cedar Springs man is in some serious trouble after he allegedly put anti-freeze into a co-worker’s water bottle on more than one occasion. The two work at Packaging Personified in Sparta.
According to MLive, Johnny Jesus Castellanos, 48, is charged with poisoning someone’s food, drink, medicine or water supply. It carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence.
