Trump s Lawsuit Is Problematic for Big Tech by Zach Vorhies

Former President Trump is suing Twitter, Facebook, and Google-owned YouTube in a series of class-action lawsuits that can decimate the colossal censorship regime of Big Tech. Trump is the right person to lead this charge in collaboration with America First Policy Institute to restore his constitutional right to free speech while preserving liberty for every American threatened by the relentless strongarm of social media’s cancel culture.  But Trump faces potential challenges. First, he is betting that the case can proceed under the jurisdiction of Florida courts which are perceived to be right-leaning in the application of the law rather than California courts, which tend to be ideologically aligned with Silicon Valley.

Twitter and Snap add users as restrictions ease

BBC News Published image copyrightGetty Images Social media firms Twitter and Snap are continuing to add users even as pandemic restrictions ease. Snapchat s number of daily users topped 293 million in the three months to the end of June, beating analysts expectations. And Twitter reported it passed the 200 million mark for daily active users who view adverts on its platform in the same period, up 11% year-on-year. Both California-based companies also saw revenues increase. Snap owns mobile app Snapchat, best-known for its video and photo stories that disappear after 24 hours. The firm reported revenues more than doubling to $982m (£713m). Our second quarter results reflect the broad-based strength of our business, as we grew both revenue and daily active users at the highest rates we have achieved in the past four years, Snap boss Evan Spiegel said in its financial update.

Donald Trump asks: ‘Do you miss me yet?’ The Trump family is finding the transition from public life difficult, but nobody, it seems, misses the former TV star being president more than he does. Donald Trump, at a political rally on July 3, requests a minute’s silence for the victims of a building collapse in Miami.  AP Save Share When, in March, John Arrigo married Megan Noderer in a swanky members’ club in Florida, it seemed only polite to invite the club’s owner, an old friend, to say a few words at the reception. What the couple may not have expected was that the few words would turn into a rambling monologue of personal grievance, self-justification, and fulminations about domestic and global politics.
