The allotment is being made for the states/UTs and it is the state governments and UTs that have to monitor proper distribution.

NEW DELHI: To ensure smooth supply of remdesivir used in the treatment of COVID-19 across the country, the allocation of the antiviral drug to the states and union territories has been made up to May 16, Union Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister Sadananda Gowda said on Friday.
The production capacity of remdesivir has been increased to 1.03 crore vials per month, up from 38 lakh vials per month earlier, the minister had said on Tuesday.

New Delhi, May 5 : Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilisers, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, on Wednesday reviewed the availability of drugs for Covid treatment and other essential medicines.
Gowda said that 16.5 lakh vials of Remdesivir have been allocated to all the states between May 3 and May 9, adding that since April 21, a total allocation of 34.5 lakh vials has been made to the states.
Allocation to the states is a dynamic process and efforts will be made to further enhance supply in the coming weeks, he said.

The CPI (M) has called for the conversion of schools and other available premises into mini-hospitals with beds to take care of the increasing number of COVID-19 patients.
In a memorandum to the Lt. Governor, R. Rajangam, CPI(M) secretary, said though guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare specify that home isolation be recommended only for patients with mild symptoms, access to 24X7 medical care and adequate facilities at home, most patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Puducherry were being recommended home isolation because of the pressure on hospital resources.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued a revised and consolidated directive today on containment of the COVID-19 pandemic in supersession of its earlier orders issued on April 30, 2021.
These directives have been issued subsequent upon review of the overall COVID-19 situation in the State by the State Level Empowered Committee chaired by Chief Secretary.
