PTI The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday declared black fungus (Mucormycosis) an epidemic and directed health facilities and medical colleges to follow the guidelines for its management. The notification was issued by the Health and Medical Education Department of the Union Territory under Section 2 of the Epidemic Disease Act 1897. However, the feature is being enabled only for Government CovidVaccination Centers (CVCs), at the present moment in time. The health ministry said that this feature will not be available for Private CVCs presently, and the Private CVCs will have to publish their vaccination schedules exclusively with slots for online appointments. This feature will be used only upon the decision of the respective state/UT Government to do so.
