The state-owned Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) won 10 blocks out of the 15 awarded through competitive bidding by the government, Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) and OKTL E&P acquired two blocks each while Pakistan Oilfield Limited (POL) secured one block, an official of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) told The Express Tribune on Wednesday.

National January 23, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is apparently pushing ahead with a fresh inquiry against alleged illegal appointment of CEOs of public listed oil and gas companies in the country. The new push in the said inquiry by NAB comes at a time when a superior court had observed that the anti-corruption watchdog was on fishing expedition to gather evidence against one of CEO of Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL). More than two years passed since the NAB investigation team is struggling to gather conclusive and new evidence against CEOs/MDs of their alleged illegal appointments in Pakistan LNG Ltd, Pakistan State Oil, LNG Terminal Ltd and Inter State Gas System Ltd in violation of rules. The NAB slapped former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi a notice for his alleged involvement in manipulating the appointment of Adnan Gilani as Chief Executive Officer PLL in 2018, seeking his reply on this specific issue by Jan 10, 2020.

Reuters/File ISLAMABAD: The government has sought urgent tenders for liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries in third and fourth week of February to fill the gap arising out of a default by Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) on its supply commitment. A senior official at the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) confirmed that two cargoes had been sought from the international market using emergency provisions of the procurement rules. He said Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) the state-run entity responsible for import of LNG had approached prospective suppliers for LNG delivery on Feb 15-16 and Feb 23-24.
