All fish markets, fish landing sites, sheds and Government-run locations used to supply or trade in fish, will be closed February 3 to February 17 as a result of the “national pause” to combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, in a statement today, advised operators of fishing vessels to return to port as soon as possible before the national pause to facilitate the sale of their catch.
“Vessel owners and operators are asked to note that no personnel will be at the markets to receive, purchase or process fish from February 3 to February 17,” the statement noted.
