Education Ministry launches initiative of blended-e-learning - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to use of technology in education, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has launched an initiative of blended-e-learning and in pursuant to that an agreement was signed between the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE), Knowledge Platform, Tele Taleem, and Robotics mea in Islamabad on Monday. Blended learning is an approach to education that combines online education materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classrooms methods. In this research-based pilot project, different technologies will be used in different levels of education to test and understand the effectiveness of these technologies on the learning of students.

Educationists demand transparency in National Education Policy - LAHORE, Pakistan: The Working Group for Inclusive Education (WGIE) and the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ) organized a briefing/consultation meeting with eminent experts in education including Dr. Abdul Hameed Nayyar, Peter Jacob, Dr. Riaz Ahmad Shaikh, Farid Panjwani, Nida Usman, Zubeida Mustafa, and Zeeba Hashmi. In anticipation of the launch of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2021 by the Ministry of Federal Education, experts underlined the possible solutions to the challenges in the policy sphere. The participants appreciated that the Ministry intends to accommodate broad-based public consultations in the process but noted with regret that education has been one of the most neglected sectors, exemplified in failure to achieve desired literacy rates and education standards.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has dual nationality arrangements with 12 European countries including France, Italy, Belgium, Iceland, Finland, Switzerland, Netherland, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Germany and Norway. This was stated by an official of the Interior Ministry on Friday while briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development. He told the committee that dual nationality arrangements with Portugal, Czech Republic and Luxemburg were under process. The National Assembly Standing Committee started with a note of displeasure over constant absence of special assistant to prime minister on overseas Pakistanis and human resource development. Nonetheless, the committee met for a briefing on dual nationality.
