The King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence participated in the International Human Fraternity Virtual Summit held under the patronage of the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
Centre trustees board chairman Dr Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa represented Bahrain.
In his inaugural speech, Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the leaders of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE have drawn up the most wonderful examples of tolerance and peaceful coexistence. He noted that their historical efforts bear witness to the greatest characteristic of benevolence for the other . He pointed out contributions of the Gulf countries to resolving crises and tribulations afflicting humanity, activation of the principle of brotherhood and human unity.
Fraternity helps in solving humanity’s woes

The UAE aims to help achieve security, stability and peace through these valued pillars. Dedicating a day to Fraternity in particular seems to spotlight the essence of this key virtue.

Eagle-eyed residents may have spotted a change to their network provider name on Thursday December 4 to ‘Fraternity’. If you’ve spotted it and wondering why? Well, it’s to help celebrate the Human Fraternity Festival.
The event will run from February 4 to 8 and is being organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, in cooperation with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will inaugurate the first Human Fraternity Festival.
The festival, which will be held remotely will be attended by over 100 federal and local authorities and international organisations, along with local, international and United Nations leaders, scholars and intellectuals specialising in tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity.

A member of the UAE royal family has called on the world to work as one to eradicate religious extremism, saying we ought to “vie with one another in virtue”.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Co-existence, made the plea when opening a five-day forum that began on the world’s first International Day for Human Fraternity.

”I call on all of you today to work together to promote the inclusion of all regions of the world in the progress of humanity,” he said to an audience of almost 2,000 international officials, experts and academics, who attended the forum virtually.
