(MENAFN - The Post) MASERU -THERE is chaos in the government after Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro abruptly fired two ministers and reshuffled several others. Labour Minister Keketso Rantšo and Defence Minister Prince Maliehe received their marching orders yesterday afternoon. Their dismissal is with immediate effect, which means that they left their offices soon after receiving the letters. The decision has sent shockwaves among cabinet ministers, with most said to have been caught unawares. It could also have grave implications on the coalition government s numbers in parliament. Rantso could not be reached for a comment but her personal assistant, Nthakho Monare, confirmed that she was no longer a minister.

The ban will only be lifted on 28 February Share Bereng Mpaki THE Ministry of Small Business Development, Cooperatives and Marketing has temporarily banned the importation of selected fresh agricultural products to preserve their market for local producers. Tomatoes, green beans and peppers have all been banned starting on 1 February 2021. The ban will only be lifted on 28 February. Tankiso Phapano, the principal secretary (PS) in the ministry this week told the Lesotho Times that the move would allow local producers to sell off their produce without having to compete with imports.

Ministry bans import of bottled water MASERU-LESOTHO, famous for its pure water, is losing M69 million every year importing bottled water mainly from South Africa. Now the government is putting a stop to that leakage. This week, the government announced it was banning the import of bottled water. The ban became effective from Monday. Tefo Mapesela, the Agriculture Minister, told thepost this week that it did not make sense “for Lesotho to sell water to South Africa then buy it back”. Mapesela said the fact that Lesotho spends so much money on imported water might have made South Africans marvel at us “because we sell them water”.
