New Delhi: The Minority Affairs Ministry was allocated Rs 4,810.77 crore in the 2021-22 Union Budget on Monday which is Rs 805.77 crore more than than the revised figures of the previous fiscal.
In the budget presented for 2021-22 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, it is proposed to give Rs 4,810.77 crore to the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

Hyderabad: National Minorities Commission vice-chairman Atif Rasheed on Sunday said he will take up serious action against encroachers of Waqf properties in Telangana. The NMC chief announced that he will suggest the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs to set up a special task force and enquiry committee to free all Waqf properties from “land mafia” and take action against the “illegal activities” going on in the Telangana State Waqf Board.

Jammu, Jan 27 : The J&K Police Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested a West Bengal resident on charge of swindling Rs 1.34 crore from the Ministry of Minority Affairs. A team headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police proceeded to West Bengal and arrested accused Selim Sekh of Tinsatabighi Berabad village in Malda district, who was wanted in many FIRs pertaining to fraudulent siphoning of government funds, a Crime Branch statement said.
It said the accused in criminal conspiracy with co-accused uploaded fake application forms on the National Scholarship Portal for Merit cum Means Scholarship under the Minority Quota for Jammu and Kashmir students during 2018-19 for Kulgam district. As per a statement, the accused Selim Sekh was arrested in West Bengal by the team of Crime Branch Kashmir headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police. The accused, in criminal conspiracy with the other accused persons, uploaded fake application forms on National Scholarship Portal for Merit Cum Means Scholarship under Minority Quota for J&K students during the year 2018-19 for district Kulgam. Subsequently, fake verifications were conducted from the institutes which did not exist in the states mentioned in the application forms, the statement said.

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has allotted 6,000 square metres of land in Kharghar to build a Haj House for pilgrims travelling from the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.
CIDCO said on Friday it received a letter from the Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Minority Affairs seeking allotment of five acres of land near the airport to set up a Haj House and a seasonal office for the Haj Committee. In October 2016, management of the Haj pilgrimage was transferred to the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
