Kuala Lumpur: The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia (Huazong) called on the Government to come up with more comprehensive and effective measures to assist Malaysian youths who have lost their jobs or source of income, and young entrepreneurs who are struggling to stay afloat amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

(pic), proposed that besides the existing aid schemes, the Government should consider establishing a joint special committee comprising relevant government departments and agencies like the Youth and Sports Ministry, Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED), and Ministry of Finance, to seriously look into various pressing issues facing youths who had been adversely affected by the pandemic, and to provide necessary assistance to get through this difficult time of unprecedented magnitude.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 RM317.62 million or 99.3 per cent of the RM319.76 million allocation under Budget 2020 for the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Medac) has been channelled to local entrepreneurs as at December 7.
Its minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar described it as an achievement as it reflected the commitment and efficiency of Medac and its agencies in helping entrepreneurs to maintain their competitiveness in the economic cycle.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (Medac) is optimistic of assisting some 25,000 small businesses nationwide to go digital within one to two years as a vital move to ensure their survival in the post Covid-19 era.
Its Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar
(pic), in a statement Sunday, said this was largely due the multiplier effect that the ministry expects to see from various programmes conducted by its agencies, with the most recent being a collaboration between SMECorp and Warong Riders delivery service via SME Corp’s Micro Connector Programme.

KLANG, Dec 13 Only three ministries have employed more than 1 per cent of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) as stipulated in Service Circular No 16 of 2010, said Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Senator Ras Adiba Radzi.
She said the three ministries are the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (1.87 per cent PwD), the Ministry of Defence (1.32 per cent) and the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (1.07 per cent).
