Parliament s Monsoon Session to commence from today ANI | Updated: Jul 19, 2021 08:05 IST New Delhi [India], July 19 (ANI): The Parliament is all set to witness a confrontation between the government and the Opposition over raging issues of the COVID-19 pandemic, farmers protest, fuel prices hike and vaccination strategy as its monsoon session will start from today. The monsoon session will conclude on August 13. The sixth session of the 17th Lok Sabha will commence on July 19. Subject to exigencies of government business, the session is likely to conclude on August 13, a Lok Sabha release said. Rajya Sabha press communique stated that President Ram Nath Kovind has summoned the House to meet on July 19 and the session will continue till August 13.

The monsoon session will conclude on August 13. The sixth session of the 17th Lok Sabha will commence on July 19. Subject to exigencies of government business, the session is likely to conclude on August 13, a Lok Sabha release said. Rajya Sabha press communique stated that President Ram Nath Kovind has summoned the House to meet on July 19 and the session will continue till August 13. This will be the first session of parliament since the results of assembly polls in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Last year, the monsoon session began in September and the winter session was not held due to the COVID-19 situation.

Parliament s Monsoon Session begins today  The Monsoon Session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha began on a stormy note on Monday with the Opposition creating a ruckus and preventing Prime Minister Narendra Modi from introducing his newly-inducted Union Ministers. The Prime Minister said he was expecting members of the House to show enthusiasm by thumping their desks as a large number of those from  the Dalits, Scheduled Tribes and OBC communities as well as sons of farmers and those from economically backward and rural backgrounds have become ministers in the recent rejig. However, probably, some people did not like that people of such background have become ministers and that is why they are now conducting themselves with such behaviour, he said. In the Rajya Sabha as well, the opposition MPs created ruckus and prevented the Prime Minister from introducing the new Ministers.

More than 40 leaders from 33 parties attended the all-party meeting held at the Parliament on Sunday a day before the commencement of the Monsoon session. Besides PM Modi, among the key leaders present in the all-party meeting were Defence Minister Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien and DMK’s Tiruchi Siva.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, PM Modi noted that over 40 crore people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and inoculation is being taken forward at a fast pace. Vaccine is given in baahu (arms), those who take it become Baahubali . Over 40 cr people have become Baahubali in the fight against COVID. It s being taken forward. The pandemic has gripped the entire world. So we want  meaningful discussions in the Parliament over it, he said.
