Pakistan, Kuwait review economic ties
The assistant foreign minister hoped that the forthcoming meeting of ministerial commission would be instrumental

A Kuwaiti delegation, led by Assistant Foreign Minister Ali Suliman Al-Saeed, visited on Thursday the Ministry of Economic Affairs to review the bilateral economic relations. The trip was aimed at moving forward in order to enhance cooperation in economic, trade, oil and gas, energy, investment, agriculture, IT and health sectors. Secretary of the Economic Affairs Division welcomed the delegation and emphasised the need for enhancing bilateral economic relations for the benefit of both countries. The secretary acknowledged the support from Kuwait by extending financing for development projects in Pakistan and the debt suspension facility provided by the Kuwait Fund to overcome the Covid-19 outbreak. Government and industry officials, including chipmakers, are to discuss deepening supply chain partnerships with top US officials in a virtual meeting on Friday next week, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said yesterday.
To facilitate the talks, Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua (王美花) would be joining the meeting, the ministry said.
“Cooperation between Taiwanese and US supply chains is closer than ever,” it said. “Since last year’s dialogue, we have maintained regular communication.”

Taipei, Jan. 29 (CNA) The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on Friday said a virtual meeting will be held next week with officials and business leaders from both the United States and Taiwan to discuss the issue of automotive chips and other supply-chain related matters.
The video conference, scheduled for Feb. 5, will be hosted by Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua (王美花), the MOEA said.
Participants to the event will not only be limited to semiconductor manufacturers but also suppliers from various industries.
The list of people taking part in the online discussion will be disclosed at a later date, the MOEA said.

ISLAMABAD Pakistan and Kuwait on Thursday have expressed resolve to move forward for enhancing cooperation in economic, trade, oil and gas, energy, investment, agriculture, Information Technology, and health sectors.
The resolve was expressed during the visit of a high-level Kuwaiti delegation led by Assistant Foreign Minister on Asian Affairs Ali Suleiman Al-Saeed to Islamabad.
According to the Pakistan Foreign Office, during the visit, the Kuwaiti delegate called on Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad.
