The Lagos State Government has resolved the fracas between the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) over Obalende Motor Park.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some members of the NURTW and RTEAN on Feb. 11, engaged in a free-for-all over control of the park.
The Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, Mr Oluwatoyin Fayinka, made this known in a statement issued by Mrs Bolanle Ogunlola, Head of Public Affairs Unit, Ministry of Transportation. x
Fayinka said that the truce was reached after a meeting with the leadership of both unions over park operations, which lasted for over four hours at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Ikeja.

The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Transportation, Oluwatoyin Fayinka, said a truce was reached after a meeting with the leadership of both unions which lasted for over four hours at the Radisson Blue Hotel, Ikeja.
He said the meeting had in attendance representatives of NURTW led by its Chairperson, Musiliu Akinsanya, and RTEAN led by the Vice-Chair of RTEAN, Gbenga Elesho, among other government officials.

As a growing number of COVID-19 vaccines come onto the market, officially or approved for market with conditions, transport of vaccines became new concerns in China and in the world.
Companies and industry associations have said that China is capable to guarantee domestic and international vaccine transport, with increasing number of refrigerators, cold-chain vehicles and relevant equipment required.
At present, there is a huge number of Chinese produced COVID-19 vaccine transported internationally, which in general have been transported by chartered flights, a manager of a Chinese logistics company that has international business, told the Global Times on Tuesday on the condition of anonymity.

The Oworonshoki bound lane of the Third Mainland Bridge will be closed totally to vehicular movement by midnight on Saturday, February 6 till 7pm on Sunday, February 7 to remove the last expansion joint on the Oworonshoki bound lane.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, stated that the rehabilitation process was being done assiduously to ensure set deadlines were met.
Motorists from Ogudu, Alapere and Gbagada were advised to use Ikorodu Road, Jibowu and Yaba as alternative routes, while Iyana Oworosoki bound traffic from the Lagos Island, Iddo, Oyingbo, Adekunle and Yaba should use Herbert Macaulay Way, Jibowu and Ikorodu road as alternative routes.
