ABU DHABI, 12th February, 2021 (WAM) The Higher Committee Overseeing the National Strategy on Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism, has convened its first meeting in 2021 via video conference.
The committee members were briefed on the latest developments of the action plan for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist finance in addition to the future plans developed to achieve the set objectives in the best possible manners.
During the meeting Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice, and Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy, reviewed the progress made by their ministries to counter money laundering and financing terrorism.

The parties to the revitalized peace agreement have agreed in a meeting to complete the formation of government at all levels within a week, a senior official said in a statement Tuesday.
“After extensive deliberations that lasted for three hours on a broad range of critical and pertinent pending issues revolving around the implementation of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS). The meeting resolved as follows; One, that completion of the process of formation of state government be expedited by finalizing the list of nominations and each one of the requisite presidential decrees effecting the appointment of the following in the course of one week,” partly read the statement bearing the name of Nhial Deng Nhial, the minister of presidential affairs.

The trade between Dubai and Israel has reached 1 billion dirham ($272 million) over the last five months, the Dubai media office said on Saturday.
Israel and the United Arab Emirates agreed in August to normalize diplomatic relations.
The amount includes around 325 million dirham of imports and 607 million dirham of exports, the media office said in a statement.
Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has stated that the UAE has become a global media magnet thanks to the strategic, landmark projects and initiatives adopted by the nation across 2020, primarily the launch of the Emirates Mars Mission Hope Probe , and Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, the signing of the Abraham Accords Peace Agreement, and the successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic despite its repercussions on the global economy.
Sheikh Mansour made the statements during the first meeting held by the National Media Team following its formation under a cabinet decision recently.

Nhial Deng Nhial, the minister for presidential affairs, earlier this afternoon, in a press release, said that consultations are underway regarding the reconstitution of the Transitional Legislative Assembly and the formation of state governments and urged the public for patience.
“In light of stories trending on social media and reported by some media houses across the country regarding the delay in the reconstitution of the Transitional Legislative Assembly and the formation of State Governments, the Ministry of Presidential Affairs would like to inform the public that work is ongoing on both files and announcement will be made as soon as consultations are organized,” Nhial Deng said in a statement obtained by Radio Tamazuj.
