New Delhi [India], May 5 (ANI): India has begun exporting millets sourced from farmers in Uttarakhand, which meet the organic certification standards of the European Union, to Denmark.
According to a release from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, APEDA, in collaboration with Uttarakhand Agriculture Produce Marketing Board (UKAPMB) and Just Organik, an exporter, has sourced & processed ragi (finger millet), and jhingora (barnyard millet) from farmers in Uttarakhand for exports.
UKAPMB procured millets directly from these farmers which have been processed in the state-of-art processing unit built by mandi board and operated by Just Organik.

SINGAPORE: Singapore s key price gauge rose by the fastest pace in more than a year in March, in part due to higher services inflation as well as smaller declines in retail and other goods, official data showed on Friday (Apr 23).
The core inflation rate - the central bank s favoured price measure - rose to 0.5 per cent in March from a year earlier, compared with 0.2 per cent in the prior month. A Reuters poll of economists had forecast an increase of 0.4 per cent.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has cancelled his visit to the poll-bound West Bengal on Friday as he will be chairing a series of high-level meetings over the Covid situation in the country. The Prime Minister was scheduled to address four election rallies in Malda, Murshidabad, Birbhum and Kolkata, but all these stands cancelled as he will now be addressing public meetings virtually tomorrow.
The Prime Minister will address a series of meeting with top officials to review the coronavirus situation in the country as it goes through the second wave, dealing with shortage of oxygen, key medicines at the same time.
In the meeting that also discussed ways and means to boost oxygen availability amid demands from many states for an increase in its supply, Modi was told that the supply of life-saving gas to states has been steadily increasing.
