The ministry has promised to allot at least 500 city buses for the state capital in order to improve last mile connectivity RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is all set to receive 500 new buses from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) as part of Union government’s special scheme which aims at strengthening the public transport system across all urban centres. Talking to TOI on Sunday, RMC municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar said, “As per our discussion with the MoHUA secretary (Durga Shankar Mishra), who recently visited Ranchi, the ministry has promised to allot at least 500 city buses for the state capital in order to improve last mile connectivity. We have been asked to draft a proposal in consultation with the state urban development authority and submit it to MoHUA. We will send the proposal next month.”

Changes to the rates were notified in June 2018. “Due to impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, the existing rates are being further retained for another six months up to June 30, 2021, to provide relief to the lessees/owners of these properties,” it added.
