RANCHI: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is all set to receive 500 new buses from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) as part of Union government’s special scheme which aims at strengthening the public transport system across all urban centres.
Talking to TOI on Sunday, RMC municipal commissioner Mukesh Kumar said, “As per our discussion with the MoHUA secretary (Durga Shankar Mishra), who recently visited Ranchi, the ministry has promised to allot at least 500 city buses for the state capital in order to improve last mile connectivity. We have been asked to draft a proposal in consultation with the state urban development authority and submit it to MoHUA. We will send the proposal next month.”
The decision was taken during the National Conference with States on Logistics on Tuesday to initiate a consultative and collaborative framework for the central and state governments to work in a coordinated manner in the logistic sector.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will keep unchanged the rates for floor area ration (FAR) and land-use conversion (for residential, commercial, mixed-use, and cooperative group housing society properties or CGHS) till June 30, 2021.
In a statement on January 12, the DDA said that implementation of the changes was “extended periodically” due to “procedural aspects,” The Economic Times reported. Changes to the rates were notified in June 2018.
“Due to impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, the existing rates are being further retained for another six months up to June 30, 2021, to provide relief to the lessees/owners of these properties,” it added.
