State Secretary receives copy of credentials from Turkish Ambassador

2021-05-08 13:01:50 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mr. Ankhbayar Nyamdorj, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, received the copy of Letter of Credence from H.E. Zafer Ates, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia. State Secretary N.Ankhbayar congratulated H.E. Zafer Ates upon his appointment as the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Mongolia and emphasized that Mongolia attaches high importance to its relations and cooperation with Turkey – its third neighbour. During the meeting, sides exchanged views on the bilateral relations and cooperation. State Secretary underlined the importance of boosting economic cooperation and yielding tangible outcome and expressed his belief that H.E. Zafer Ates would exert his efforts for same result during his tenure.

Since 2020, Covid-19 pandemic is causing more frequent human rights violations globally including Mongolia in public, social and business spheres requiring timely and urgent solutions.   Today, UNDP Mongolia officially launched the “Business and Human Rights in Asia: Enabling Sustainable Economic Growth through the Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework” programme funded by the European Union Partnership Instrument and co-implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia with the support from the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub and Business and Human Rights Asia Pro

Mongolia welcomes first batch of COVID-19 vaccines via COVAX Facility

On March 12, Mongolia received 14,400 doses of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccines via the COVAX Facility, a partnership between the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF.  This delivery is part of a first wave of arrivals that will continue in the coming days and weeks. UNICEF and WHO have been technically, financially and logistically supporting the Government of Mongolia to prepare for the COVID-19 immunization campaign. “In the battle against this global pandemic, countries around the world have launched the rollout of COVID-19 vaccination. The vaccination campaign in Mongolia started on 23 February 2021 and is accelerating further. We are happy to welcome the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX Facility. Ambassador gets acquainted with conditions of students studying in Cuba

Battsetseg met with officials of Cuban universities, including Medical University of Camagüey, the University of Medical Sciences of Cienfuegos, the Latin American School of Medicine in Havana, and Technological University of Habana José Antonio Echeverría, where Mongolian students study, and personally got acquainted with the learning and living environment of the students.
