Rajkumar Ranjan Singh and Meenakshi Lekhi have been appointed as the new Ministers of State for MEA.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) now has two more Ministers of State (MoS) taking the total number of deputies to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar (MP from Gujarat) to three.

New Delhi [India], July 8 (ANI): Meenakshi Lekhi, the second-term MP of Bharatiya Janata Party s from Delhi, assumed office as Union Minister of State (MoS) for the Ministry of External Affairs on Thursday.
The Ministry of External Affairs now has three MOS - V Muraleedharan, Meenakshi Lekhi and Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
Speaking to ANI, Lekhi said, On behalf of all friends, I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, party chief and the entire team that they prioritised meritocracy and hard work and gave positions to everyone. India has been brought not only on the maps but also in the ministries.

Stan Swamy s bail pleas were rejected due to nature of charges against him: MEA
Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday said that activist Stan Swamy s bail pleas were rejected due to the nature of the charges against him. In response to media queries on the demise of the Jesuit priest Father Stan Swamy, the official spokesperson of MEA, Arindam Bagchi said, We have seen reports on the demise of Fr Stan Swamy. He was arrested and detained by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) following due process under the law. Because of the specific nature of charges against him, his bail applications were rejected by the courts. Authorities in India act against violations of law and not against legitimate exercise of rights. All such actions are strictly in accordance with the law .
