NEW DELHI, May 4 (Xinhua) Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his British counterpart Boris Johnson on Tuesday held a virtual summit and signed nine agreements, according to the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
The agreements were signed on areas including trade, innovation, digital technology, telecommunication, customs cooperation, medical products regulation, and pharmaceutical cooperation.
During the virtual summit, Roadmap 2030 was adopted to elevate bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership .
According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the Roadmap 2030 will pave the way for a deeper and stronger engagement over the next 10 years in the key areas of people-to-people contacts, trade and economy, defence and security, climate action and health.
The government has around 27 lakh doses of the vaccine remaining.
An official of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said those would run out within 10-12 days if the vaccination went on at this pace.
Iqbal Arslan, president of Swadhinata Chikitshak Parishad or Swachip, said, I don t think that we will get the vaccines soon. So my personal opinion is that administration of the first dose should be stopped. If we cannot administer the second dose, then the first shot will be a waste.
Md Sayedur Rahman, chairman of pharmacology department at the BSMMU, said, The government should focus on the second dose. If needed, the government should purchase the Oxford vaccine from other sources at higher prices. The inoculation of first dose should be stopped right away.

New Delhi [India], April 12 (ANI): The 9th India-EU Human Rights dialogue was held here on Monday wherein the two sides reiterated their commitment to the shared principles and values of democracy, freedom, rule of law and respect for human rights.
The Human Rights Dialogue was co-chaired by the Joint Secretary for Europe West in the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Sandeep Chakravorty, and the Ambassador of the European Union to India, Ugo Astuto, the MEA informed in a statement.
During the dialogue, the participants exchanged views on strengthening human rights, including in social, economic, and cultural spheres.
