Mensah supervised the preparation and execution of the agreement with Construtora OAS Limited, the contractor of the project. The Attorney General is currently on the heels of the former Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Alhaji Collins Dauda; his successor, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, and three other persons, over the project. The aforementioned are accused of wilfully causing financial loss to the state for allegedly misapplying the state’s $200 million for the affordable housing project. In response to the Attorney General’s suit, Sammy Gyamfi said:

Advertisement Local leaders in Tororo District have appealed to the State House Anti- Corruption Unit to investigate circumstances under which seven newly constructed bridges in various sub-counties have collapsed before  being officially handed  over to the authorities. The collapsed bridges are Aderema in Kwapa Sub-county, Komolo in Mella Sub-county, Kennedy and Kadanya in Kalait Sub-county. Others are Kanginima in Molo Sub-county, Matawa in Nabuyoga Sub-county and Angorom in Morukatipe Sub-county.  The bridges were constructed by the Ministry of Works and Transport under the district roads rehabilitation unit in 2018/ 2019.

In addition, the government was in the process of establishing a National Housing Authority (NHA) to create the right institutional framework for the housing industry, as well as regulate the sector, he added.
