On December 15, 2020, the Atlantic Council Northern Europe Office in cooperation with the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) organized a webinar on the topic of ”European Leadership: Transatlantic relations and the Future of Belarus”. Auckland Airport was asked by the government to have systems in place by August 17 to separate travellers from a potential Pacific bubble and those requiring Covid-19 quarantine.
The airport met the deadline with time to spare, releasing a statement alongside airports in Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown on August 3 saying it had detailed plans to safely separate “Pacific bubble” travellers from those arriving from places with community transmission.

New State Secretary at Ministry for Foreign Affairs

The Government has appointed Janine Alm Ericson as State Secretary to the Minister for International Development Cooperation at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Ms Ericson was previously group leader of the Green Party in the Riksdag, member of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and gender equality policy spokesperson.
She took up her new position on 5 February 2021.
