Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday unveiled a historic development package worth Rs 446 billion to uplift backward areas of opposition-led Sindh province through power supply, irrigation, sports and communication projects.
The prime minister, while addressing a ceremony to hand over business loan cheques among the entitled youths here, said proposed projects would start getting shape within a month as feasibility studies have already been completed. Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday reshuffled his cabinet, changing the portfolios of his government’s key ministers and appointing Shaukat Fayaz Tareen as a new minister for finance and revenue.
Tareen, the second former PPP lawmaker picked as the finance minister, has replaced PTI’s recently appointed finance minister Hammad Azhar, who has now been given the portfolio of energy. Tareen earlier served as the finance minister in former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s cabinet from 2009-2010.

Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday said changing the corrupt system is a time taking but doable challenge though the status quo biases are resisting the systemic reformation.
“The status quo doesn’t allow change. It makes them lose their (corruption) money. How will they make money if they don’t resist change? This way, a whole (vicious) system is developed in the society,” the prime minister said while addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of affordable apartments for low-income group.
