80-km Vizhinjam-Parippally ring road to be developed
The State government is implementing a slew of projects designed for the comprehensive development of the State capital, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.
Addressing a select group here on Thursday as part of the ‘Kerala Paryadanam,’ Mr. Vijayan said that the city gas distribution project could be implemented in Thiruvananthapuram.
He listed the Vizhinjam seaport project, the Technocity project, the elephant rehabilitation centre at Kottoor and the development of the Akkulam lake as among the projects that would transform the character of the State capital.
Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran and District Collector Navjot Khosa, both in PPE kits, represented the state government.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sugathakumari’s body was cremated with full state honours at Santhikavadam in Thycaud here at 4.15pm on Wednesday.
The cremation was in adherence to the Covid-19 protocol. Her daughter Lakshmi, sisters’ children Padmanabhan and Sreedevi Pillai, and grandson Vishnu were the family members who attended the function.
Devaswom Minister Kadakampally Surendran and District Collector Navjot Khosa, both in PPE kits, represented the state government.
The full state honours came as an irony since the poet had earlier expressed her wish to avoid such routines at her cremation.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s additional private secretary C M Raveendran is unlikely to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday as he is undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College Hospital for treating post-Covid complications. This would be the third time that the officer is skipping the ED’s summons.Sources close to Raveendran said he continues to suffer from fatigue and severe headache.
