Scouts and Guides Kannada Bhavan and Mundrudeguthu K. Amarnatha Shetty Auditorium came to be inaugurated at Moodbidri on Saturday.
The facilities, next to Swaraj Maidan in the town, were constructed at a cost of ₹12 crore and be available for public to conduct various public programmes.
Inaugurating the facilities, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade said Moodbidri was the right to place to have the Kannada Bhavan as it was the land of great poet Rathnakaravarni who contributed to Kannada substantially.

62 persons refuse to get vaccinated in Dakshina Kannada district
As many as 229 healthcare workers were inoculated against COVID-19 while 62 refused to get vaccinated on the inaugural day of the vaccination drive in Dakshina Kannada district on Sunday.
The administration had planned to inoculate 508 persons. This included 96 at District Government Wenlock Hospital, 75 at the Urban Primary Health Centre, Surathkal, 83 at taluk hospital, Bantwal, 84 at TH, Belthangady, 97 at TH Sullia, and 73 at TH, Puttur. As against the target, 20, 45, 40, 35, 45, and 44 healthcare workers respectively were inoculated at these centres by the end of the sessions.

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj K S Eshwarappa has said that there is a need to teach lessons to those who raise slogans in favour of Pakistan. “The tongues of those who raise pro-Pakistan slogans should be ripped off,” he said.
He was speaking at the Jan Sevak convention organised by BJP at Bantwal on Monday. “Anti-nationals have won elections in two gram panchayats in Dakshina Kannada district. We have anti-nationals who raise Pakistan Zindabad slogans in our country. The Congress does not condemn such pro-Pakistan slogans being raised in the country,” he alleged.
Eshwarappa said, “If you utter Pakistan Zindabad again, we will have to rip off your tongue. We will not take the law into our hands. We will teach lessons to such people through those who implement law and order,” he added.
