Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has spoken about the personal abuse he has received and warned that attacks on politicians are getting âworse and more personalâ.
Mr Donnelly told Newstalk Breakfast that politicians were human and no-one wanted to be attacked, but that it was becoming increasingly difficult to say âwe donât notice any of that stuffâ.
âWeâre all human and none of us want to be attacked â weâre living through really, really difficult times. People have been through so much and therefore there is a lot of anger, there is a lot of frustration, there is a lot of pain.â

Writing on Twitter, Mr Donnelly added that the number of people infected with the coronavirus in intensive care units had fallen by ‘about 75%’ since the peak in lat January.
‘We’ve one of the lowest rates of COVID-19 in Europe now,’ he said. ‘We’re making huge progress.’
