With a major $40-million investment in the United States, pilot projects in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and a new hybrid gas-geothermal project started at Swan Hills, Alberta, the potential is starting to be realized. Researchers at the University of Calgary are hoping to connect all stakeholders early in this process with the new Geothermal Energy Lab.

An expert in freedom of information (FOIP) says the commissioner should launch an investigation into whether the public can request records from an organization he calls profoundly undemocratic.
