Uttar Pradeshâs official Covid-19 figures Wednesday was 33,106, the second highest in the country after Maharashtra’s 67,468, and 187 deaths.
In capital Lucknow, some private hospitals Wednesday evening asked attendants to shift out their patients to other centres, after they ran out of medical oxygen. While medical oxygen was supplied to a few of them after frantic SOS calls, the situation continues to be precarious across the state.

The recovery count rose to 6,75,702 in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday with over 14,391 patients discharged in the past 24 hours, Additional Chief Secretary Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanth has called a meeting at 7:30 pm on April 8 to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the state.
In this meeting there will also be a discussion on preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi s video conferencing on the COVID-19 situation.
The Chief Minister has decided that daily meetings will be held in the evening at 7.30 pm to keep a track of the efforts being taken to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting could not be held in the morning because of the Chief Minister s is currently campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal.

Lucknow, March 17 : Despite surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Yogi Adityanath government has ruled out any night curfew and lockdown in any part of the state.
UP Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh said that the government machinery is concentrating more on the preventive steps like focus and contact/target testing to arrest the cases before it takes an alarming proposition.
He said that the Integrated Control and Command Centre of the Health department has been put on the high alert to monitor the situation.
