If the in-person classroom experience goes well for forms five and six students, then standard five students will be able to resume physical classes to prepare for the Secondary Entrance Assessment exam on April 12.
Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly told Newsday this at the St James Secondary School, which was the final school she toured on Monday. She had also visited St Augustine Secondary, Couva West Secondary and Diego Martin North Secondary .

WHEN Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly visited the Couva West Secondary School on Monday, many students told her they were happy to finally return to physical classrooms.
On Monday, the first cohort of students due to sit exams soon returned to school.
The minister also visited the St Augustine, Diego Martin North, St James and San Juan Secondary Schools.

Education Ministry to announce school reopening guidelines next week

Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly said guidelines for the physical reopening of schools should be available by next week in anticipation of a February 8 reopening.
The Health and Education ministries met on Thursday to discuss the reopening.
In a brief response to Newsday via WhatsApp, Gadsby-Dolly said discussions focused on ensuring that all protocols were clear.
“Based on the present numbers, there is no indication that the plan to reopen on February 8 cannot proceed, new variant notwithstanding.”
The Ministry of Health recorded TT’s first confirmed case of the UK covid19 variant, called variant B117.
