Despite arrests and heavy fines, some persons seem not taking the country’s COVID-19 quarantine measures seriously.
While St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) has to date been able to prevent community spread of coronavirus, one can safely say that we have been “lucky” to not have an outbreak.
From dozens of foreigners from high risk countries like Canada and the United States (US) converging on Mustique for a billionaire’s wedding to persons from the United Kingdom (UK) and the US breaking quarantine, SVG has so far dodged the proverbial COVID-19 bullet.

As many as 300 guests and support staff from across the world are being welcomed to Mustique this weekend for a three-day wedding celebration of a Canadian billionaire and his Brazilian bride, even as COVID-19 cases spike in North America and Europe.
SEARCHLIGHT was reliably informed that all 89 villas on the private Grenadine island were completely booked, mostly by guests arriving to attend the nuptials of Lawrence Stroll, a Canadian billionaire and Mustique homeowner and his Brazilian fiancé.

Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves has described cultural ambassador and pannist Rodney Small as an exceptional creative talent.
Small is the creative director of the concert dubbed ‘Steel Expressions’ which is into its ninth year and is in 2020 being held under the theme “Lifted”.
The venue this year has been switched from the Arnos Vale Playing Field to the Victoria Park.
Speaking at the media launch of the event at the Murray Heights Hotel on December 10, Gonsalves said we are witnessing an extraordinary personality in the cultural field, specifically in the playing of steel pan.
