DEEPAK Test positivity in Kerala touches 5.15%; Fresh cases in Bengaluru near 3,000 Kerala’s COVID-19 graph rose on Thursday, with 2,798 new cases. The test positivity rate (TPR) was 5.15%. The death toll from the virus rose as 11 more fatalities were recorded on Thursday. Pathanamthitta reported four deaths, Kozhikode three, Kottayam two, and Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur one each.

The ruling party won all 11 municipal corporations and 73 out of 75 municipalities in the State. The YSRCP secured 52.76% vote share, while the TDP’s slid to 30.08%, while the Jana Sena Party had to contend with 4.08% and the BJP 2.41%.

AP seeks Bharat Ratna for national flag designer Pingali Venkayya March 13, 2021 AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy   -  The Hindu× RELATED Andhara Pradesh Government has requested the Centre to confer the highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna, on Pingali Venkayya who designed the national flag during freedom struggle. Pingali Venkayya (1876-1963) was a freedom fighter and staunch Gandhian who designed the national flag which was approved by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. He was born in Bhatlapenumarru, near Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy paid a visit to the daughter of Venkayyam Ghantasala Sitamahalakshmi, at her residence in Macharla (Guntur) a couple of days ago and honoured her. He had also announced a financial support of ₹75 lakh to her.
