The man responsible for running the National Disability Insurance Scheme has acknowledged fear and concern surrounding proposed changes.
Martin Hoffman made the admission in a consultation paper about independent assessments and personalised budgets. I know the proposed NDIS reforms have caused real fear and concern in the community, the agency boss said. I deeply regret our genuine attempts to share information about the changes, and consult on them have not met expectations.
Mr Hoffman promised to be more transparent about the proposed reforms. By sharing more information, I hope we can create a greater understanding of the new approach and what it will mean for participants, he said.

In her first sit-down interview since returning from sick leave, Federal Minister Linda Reynolds said she s prepared to be formally interviewed by Federal Police as part of the investigation into Brittany Higgins rape allegation.
The former Defence Minister told 9News she had completed a formal statement, and was assisting the AFP in their investigation into that matter .
In the 9News interview, Ms Reynolds reflected on what she said was a difficult time for many people given the subject matter .

The disability sector is demanding answers from the Federal Government over the independence of a report used to justify controversial reforms to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Documents released to Labor appear to show the 2019 NDIS review was amended by public servants to include a section advocating for the rollout of permanent independent assessments - which disability advocates are opposed to.
