~ Government sends letter to PM Rutte. ~
PHILIPSBURG: - Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs announced on Wednesday that St. Maarten is yet to receive the NAF39M that was promised by the Netherlands. The NAF39M is the 3rd tranche of the liquidity support that was expected earlier this year but was delayed due to the petition filed by the parliament of St. Maarten to the United Nations.
While the State Secretary Raymond Knops guaranteed that St. Maarten will receive the promised liquidity support, Jacobs said the government of St. Maarten dispatched a letter to the Kingdom Council of Ministers asking that Prime Minister Mark Rutte follow up on the decisions that were made two and a half weeks ago on the liquidity support for St. Maarten.

To date, the loan agreement that Finance Minister Ardwell Irion is required to sign so that the liquidity support can be released, has not yet been sent to St. Maarten despite the signing of the implementation agenda on April 26, and repeated requests from St. Maarten for it to be sent.

The MP also said the PM has to be clear and inform Parliament and the country if State Secretary Knops and BZK (Dutch Ministry of Interior Affairs) are now using the cooperation agreement with Schiphol as a negotiating tool for liquidity support.
