Policy OK’d for ORHS block scheduling Oakridger The Oak Ridge Board of Education voted 4-1 Monday night to require more credits for students to graduate Oak Ridge High School, which is in keeping with Principal Garfield Adams plans to adopt block scheduling. Adams explained the reasoning behind his request to change the requirements in an email to The Oak Ridger. Under the current schedule, students can earn a maximum of 7.5 credits per school year. This adds up to 30 credits by the end of their high school career.   “However, this is very rare,” Adams said, explaining that due to guided studies and junior and senior  year full lunch periods, most students get 25 credits.
