Three freeway shootings were reported Saturday, two along the 605 and one on the 405. A man suffered a single gunshot wound and was transported to an area.
Authorities are investigating two shootings that occurred Saturday along the southbound 605 Freeway in Irwindale, including one that sent a man to the hospital.
Los Angeles County Public Health on Friday confirmed 27 new deaths and 489 new cases of COVID-19 countywide, with 27,629 total cases in the Santa Clarita Valley.
To date, Public Health identified 1,230,786 positive cases of COVID-19 across all areas of L.A. County and a total of 23,759 deaths.
“Our deepest sympathies go out to everyone mourning a loved one lost to COVID-19,” said Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, MEd, Director of Public Health.
There are 451 people with COVID-19 currently hospitalized and 24% of these people are in the ICU. Testing results are available for nearly 6,398,000 individuals with 18% of people testing positive. Today’s daily test positivity rate is 0.8%.

An additional 439 new COVID-19 cases and 36 deaths were reported by the LADPH across L.A. County on Thursday.
This brings the county’s cumulative total to 1,230,362 positive cases of COVID-19 and 23,736 deaths since the onset of the pandemic, according to the LADPH officials.
Testing results are available for over 6,380,000 people, with a cumulative 18% of people testing positive, according to officials.
As of Thursday, there were 468 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in L.A. County, 24% of which are in the Intensive Care Unit.
