An investigation was launched into allegations a woman, who is in her late teens, was attacked and raped in Sewell Park at about 10.30pm on Thursday, July 9, last year. A 19-year-old man, who police say is known to the victim, has been arrested in connection with the incident. He was questioned by officers at Aylsham Police Investigation Centre and released on bail, initially until August 7, and then until October 8, and then until January 11 while enquiries continue.

Two arrests over Costessey and Matishall robbery incidents

She said: “He just kept saying ‘give me the money, give me the money’. I just kept very calm and kept saying no.” Detective inspector Alix Wright said: We are still investigating the circumstances and any links between the two incidents. We would ask for anyone with information to get in contact. While staff were threatened in the incidents, fortunately no one was injured.”

The man in his 50s was arrested on Sunday, December 20 in the Thorpe Marriott area in connection with the offences. A Norfolk Police spokesman said he was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre (PIC) for questioning and has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
