Washington DC [US], April 9 (ANI): World leaders and friends of Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip paid tribute to him following his death in Windsor this morning. Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth and a leading figure in the British royal family for almost seven decades, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace said on Friday.
Joe Biden, the US President praised the Duke for his public service, saying his legacy will live on not only through his family, but in all the charitable endeavours he shaped.

The Royal Family officially announced that The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip died at the age of 99 at Buckingham Palace today.
Prince Philip had been by his wife s side throughout her 69-year reign, the longest in British history, during which time he earned a reputation among the people.
He was loyal in his duties and never took a turn from his wife Elizabeth II. They both celebrated their 73 rd wedding anniversary in November. They both were in isolation as the COVID 19 was peaking high.
Gun salutes marking the death of the Duke of Edinburgh will take place across the UK, in Gibraltar and at sea on Saturday.
Saluting batteries will fire 41 rounds at one round every minute from midday in cities including London, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast, as well as Gibraltar and from Royal Navy warships, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.
Gun salutes have been fired to mark significant national events since as early as at least the 18th century.
They were used to mark the deaths of Queen Victoria in 1901 and Winston Churchill in 1965.

OXFORD University was ‘deeply saddened’ to learn of the death of His Royal Highness, the Duke of Edinburgh. The University was honoured by a close relationship with the Duke, who visited on many occasions over the last six decades and held several honorary positions. Chancellor, the Rt Hon the Lord Patten of Barnes paid tribute to the Prince. He said: “His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was a magnificent consort for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and a great public servant in many different sectors of our national life. “He was Chancellor of Cambridge University for over 30 years and I had the privilege of occasionally working with him during that period while he was doing an important job with high intelligence and an enormous commitment to higher education and research.
