Sam Heughan is set to launch scholarships at RCS for budding young stars Scottish Outlander star Sam Heughan is set to fund three scholarships at his former music and performing arts college in Glasgow. The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) will receive 10 years worth of funding from the Dumfries and Galloway born actor who graduated from the BA Acting course in 2003. It means that each year three students who would have otherwise been unable to study at the college will be able to complete courses in the School of Drama, Dance, Production and Film. This year, two scholarships will be awarded to Scottish students on the BA acting programme, with the remaining funding going to a non-Scottish student studying any course within the School of Drama, Dance, Production and Film.
Outlander actor Sam Heughan is helping to find the next generation of screen stars by funding a new 10-year scholarship programme in his name at the drama school where he studied.
Heughan, best known for his role as warrior Jamie Fraser in the hit historical TV drama Outlander, graduated from the BA Acting degree course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) in Glasgow in 2003.
Now, he has invested in three annual scholarships for undergraduate students in the School of Drama, Dance, Production and Film who may otherwise have been unable to study there.
