Coronavirus: 556 New Cases And 68 Additional Deaths
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been notified of 68 additional deaths related to COVID-19.
50 of these deaths occurred in February,15 occurred in January and 2 in December .
The median age of those who died was 85 years and the age range was 43-96 years.
There has been a total of 3,752 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight, Sunday 7th February, the HPSC has been notified of 556 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
In the midlands a total of 36 new COVID-19 cases have been identified, Offaly has the highest figures with 18 new cases of the virus.
A CUMBRIAN acute psychiatric ward has been recognised for its good practice and high-quality care. Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust s Hadrian Unit, based at Carleton Clinic in Carlisle, received accreditation from Royal College of Psychiatrists Accreditation for Inpatient Mental Health Services (AIMS) programme. AIMS works with services like Hadrian Unit to assure and improve their quality. Through a comprehensive review process, the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Combined Committee for Accreditation recognises good practice and high-quality care whilst supporting services to identify and address areas for improvement. To ensure the unit met the standards for accreditation, the team reviewed recent developments and good practice in the service, as well as their most recent CQC reports.

Move to bolster borders against new mutant variants of novel coronavirus
All travelers arriving in the United Kingdom from abroad will face a double-testing procedure for novel coronavirus while in a 10-day quarantine, the government has announced.
