The latest information relating to Covid-19 has now been updated. Today s daily rise shows 11 new cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, follow just three yesterday (Sunday), taking the overall total since the start of the pandemic to 14,193. The weekly cases have fallen further, to 63 in the seven days leading up to April 21 – the most recent five days not shown due to incomplete data. This is from 64 in yesterday s update and 72 in Saturday s update. As a result the weekly rate has fallen to 11.0 cases per 100,000 people. The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 2,064 in 24 hours. This takes the total to 4,406,946 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

Three more people have died from coronavirus in Cornwall s hospitals. This brings the total of hospital deaths in the county involving patients who have tested positive for Covid-19 to 149. Today s data from NHS England states that two further deaths were recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust on January 19, which brings the total number of people to have died in the Trust s hospitals to 113. There has been one further death at the Cornwall Partnerships NHS Trust, on January 19, bringing the total to 36. The overall total number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – has risen to 255 recorded in the 28 days after a positive test result.

Coronavirus in Cornwall round up: Tuesday, January 19 The latest Covid-19 case information for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been published. As of 4.35pm today (Tuesday, January 19) there have been 157 new cases in the region recorded in the previous 24 hours. The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic now sits at 10,702. Saturday s update saw the number of cases in the area rise past the 10,000 milestone. There were 1,638 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to January 14. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.
