Covid case reporting for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly appears to have started to settle down again after a change in reporting threw the results into confusion at the start of the week. Changes to the way data is recorded is causing confusion in figures for the second day running. Yesterday a warning on the government dashboard read: The introduction of a new system disrupted the removal of cases where a positive rapid lateral flow test was followed by all negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests taken within three days. These 4,776 cases have now been removed. Newly-reported cases for the UK and England were unaffected. Historical published date totals have not been changed. However, it warned that Tuesday s data would show significantly lower numbers or zero at regional and local authority level, and do not reflect the actual number of new cases reported on that date.
