The roof of the double-decker bus was smashed off after the driver “misjudged” the bridge in Rocky Lane between Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill at 6.42am. There were five passengers on board. The driver and a female passenger suffered injuries in the crash.
Mid Sussex Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Inspector Darren Taylor said: “The team, along with our fire and ambulance colleagues, have had to attend Rocky Lane this morning as a bus has misjudged the bridge and hit the bridge, damaging its top level.
