Coronavirus: The Greys pub to close after amid Covid-19 fears

The Greys in Southover Street, Brighton, has closed with immediate effect as the staff member self-isolates. The Hanover pub’s decision has been described as “sensible and safe” by its regulars. The owners posted on Facecbook: “It is with regret that we have decided to close The Greys with immediate effect until further notice. “It has come to our attention that a member of the team has been in close contact with somebody, who doesn’t work for us at The Greys, but has recently tested positive for COVID-19. Both are currently self-isolating in line with government guidance. “Although we have not been advised to close our doors, we just feel for now that it is the safest and right thing to do for our staff, customers and community.

A New Beginning : Relief, Hope as UK Begins Mass COVID Vaccinations – New Delhi Times

December 10, 2020 Share Scientists and doctors say the mass coronavirus vaccination campaign that started in Britain this week represents a major milestone in the fight against COVID-19, although big challenges remain in producing and distributing enough vaccines to end the global pandemic. Britain was the first country in the world to start coronavirus vaccinations after regulators approved the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine last week. Filipino nurse Leo Quijano, who works at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in the southern city of Brighton, received the vaccine Wednesday. She told VOA she has full confidence in it. “I feel more confident and safe, because I’ve been COVID positive before and I was admitted in the hospital. There are thorough studies and research before the vaccine comes out. So, I feel positive about it,” Quijano said.
