When Caroline Dudley, 74, spent £4,500 on spray foam insulation for her Norfolk home in 2017, she thought she was doing her bit for the environment while cutting her energy bills. She never thought the decision would render her home worthless.
However, she is one of a number of people who spent thousands on insulation technology only to find out later it had made their homes unsellable.
Several banks have become unwilling to lend against properties that have spray foam insulation applied to the underside of roofs, in lofts and against rafters.

A recently published remuneration report shows that Sean Tompkins was awarded £73,911 in January this year for the group’s 2019–20 plan and an additional £189,720 as part of the deferred element of the plan, payable in 2022.
Tompkins also received an annual salary for the year to the end of July 2020 of £254,341, a reduction of 2.1% compared to the previous year, after he took a 15% pay cut for a six-month period.

Countrywide Surveying Services has appointed Ana Bajri (pictured) as senior technical manager for risk and compliance.
Bajri will be responsible for ensuring that services to customers and corporate clients are of the highest standard, as well as driving sustainable growth and success in a suitably risk controlled way while optimising the customer journey.
Prior to this appointment, Bajri held a number of roles at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) over the past nine years.
