Minister for Pacific Peoples Aupito Sio will oversee the vaccine send-off to Tokelau, from Auckland. (File image) The Cook Islands began vaccinating in May, on the first day of the quarantine-free travel bubble with New Zealand. According to the Royal New Zealand Navy, a 76-member crew will be covering 5000 nautical miles from Auckland’s Devonport base, in a logistically challenging operation to deliver the vaccines on behalf of the Ministry of Health.
