Rev Up event back
The Covid-19 pandemic forced the postponement of last year s Repco Rev Up event bringing dozens of flash classic cars and bikes to Whangārei. That didn t stop the organisers, the Whangārei Rod and Custom Club, making a sizeable donation to its chosen charity. The event is on again in April, and again, the chosen charity will be Whangārei s Kind Hands Respite Care Cottage. The cars and bikes will be on display at Repco Rev Up in Whangārei s Cameron St Mall on April 17. To register your vehicle or for more info go to www.

New Zealand Police has witnessed one of the most diverse sets of officers graduating from Wing 342 of Royal New Zealand Police College earlier last month.
The year 2020 saw police pass a landmark of 10,000 officers despite having a very challenging training session due to Covid-19 in New Zealand. Some wings were unable to invite their loved ones to graduation even.
Recruit Wing 342 graduated from RNZPC mid-December adding another 59 to the 500 constables who had already joined the frontline during 2020.
Seven of the 59 graduates were of Indian descent with others being from South Africa, Samoa, Singapore, Ireland and the UK.
