1191935 BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 10 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): A local man, who pleaded guilty to charges of house-trespass, impersonation and theft inside the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) base in Muara, was sentenced to three years and four months in jail by the Intermediate Court on Thursday (July 8).
Judge Harnita Zelda Skinner handed the sentence to Ezzeddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, 46, after giving consideration to the aggravating factors and weighing on the seriousness of the offences.
The judge, agreeing with Deputy Public Prosecutor Sabrina binti Haji Mahmud’s submissions, highlighted house-trespass with the intention to commit theft as a prevalent offence, which calls for a deterrent sentence.
